Why the name R is One?

In statistics, the correlation coefficient R measures the strength and direction of the linear relationship between two variables. When R is equal to 1, the relationship between the variables is as strong as it can possibly be and is positive. In my tutoring, I strive to develop the strongest possible positive relationships with my students and their parents or guardians.
